Who are we?

Netco Trading plc evolved from Netco Trading in 2006, to focus on export oriented activities in addition to its longstanding engagement in a diversified import portfolio.

This transition from exclusive import to export house corresponds with the general trend of the Ethiopian economy towards a more exports driven model.

Netco Trading plc is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, a booming and dynamic city which is not only the Ethiopian capital but also the political and figurative capital of Africa.

Netco Trading plc is named after Nejah Yusuf Succar. It is one of the relatively few but rapidly growing number of international trading companies to be owned and run by a woman. Mrs. Succar comes from a family of business entrepreneurs with a rich legacy of over 100 years of experience in international commerce. As Netco Trading Plc CEO, she proactively engages shareholders on the ways and means of achieving the substance and spirit of the mission statement and goals upon which the company has been founded.

Netco Trading Plc is presently located near the heart of Addis Abeba’s commercial district in Lideta sub-city.

However, due to the rapid place of urban redevelopment, the company will soon move to new premises in the Lebu area of Nifas silk Lafto sub city. This area has emerged as one of the most dynamic commercial and industrial sections of Addis Ababa.

The new Netco Trading Plc headquarters is a purpose built two-storey building with ample office show rooms, a climate controlled warehouse and other facilities.

The property is fit for purpose as Netco Trading plc aims to consolidate its position in the export of oilseeds and particularly sesame seed, products which enjoy increasing global demand for applications in numerous industries.



Products & Services

Imports Department

Although Netco Trading plc is shifting its focus toward export trade, it remains committed to maintaining its long-standing and well deserved reputation as a trusted supplier of original branded products.

Netco Trading Plc has developed an extensive and commercially successful list of links with some of the most respectable international manufacturers. We have over two decades of mutually productive relationships with venerable brands such as: Germany’s MATO-grease guns, SIMEX-tire wrenches and WEBER-hydraulic jacks as well as the UK’s FLEXOID-gasket papers and CHEMICO-grinding paste, among many others.

These commercial contacts have made Netco Trading Plc the preferred choice for private and public clients wishing to purchase original hardware and accessories from our diversified stocks.



Exports Department

Netco Trading Plc has expanded this department to serve as the core of its commercial operations. The department is responsible for market research, supply and procurement, certification, handling consignments, shipping and other activities pertaining to the export sector.

Currently Netco Trading Plc is engaged in the export of agricultural produce; namely, sesame seed and oilseeds.

Ethiopia is among the world’s Top 5 sesame seed producers and exporters. In fact, 60% of the global sesame seed supply is found in Myanmar, India, China, Ethiopia and Nigeria.

We offer primarily high quality ‘Whitish Humera’, a superior type of sesame which is actually used as a reference of grading on the international market. This variety fulfills the four requirements of good quality: Color, Taste, Purity and Dryness. ‘Whitish Humera’ has a pleasant aroma, sweetness and a high oil content which has been well appreciated by our clients in countries as far apart as Egypt and Taiwan.

In addition to ‘Whitish Humera’, Netco Trading Plc also offers the ‘Wellega’ variety which also enjoys wide spread demand and classifies as yet another superior sesame seed from Ethiopia.

Netco Trading Plc also exports or is in the process of doing so; linseed, Niger seed and other oilseeds.

In the near future, we are looking to supply the world market with Ethiopia’s renowned herbs, spices and other high value agricultural produce.



Transparency and seal certification
Netco Trading Plc sources only the best sesame and oilseeds at public auction from the Ethiopian Commodities Exchange-ECX.

The produce is certified by a rigorous scientific authentication and seed certification process conducted and guaranteed by ECX experts.



Fair trade commitments
Netco Trading Plc is committed to a policy of comprehensive fair trade. Accordingly, we routinely assess the supply chain from farmland to final shipment in order to monitor full compliance with national, continental and international protocols regulating agricultural and environmental concerns, including the rights and protection of women, children farming communities and society at large.



Export Profile
Given that it is a relatively recent entrant to export trade, Netco Trading Plc is proud to have already taken on and successfully concluded several export contracts.

Among our clients have been important buyers in Cairo, Egypt and Taipei, Taiwan.

Based on their feedback, we are pleased to have discovered such ready-made markets, which in turn, are excited to have discovered the high value of superior sesame seeds and other oilseeds from Ethiopia. As we pursue even more exports, Netco Trading Plc fully intends to take advantage of the Ethiopian government’s policies encouraging the expansion of export trade.



We have been engaging with locals in Ethiopia since the early 90’s and both our experiences and client satisfaction have enabled us to maintain successful partnerships. There are many customers that have been with us since the beginning and today are rather known as our friends.

We have been dealing in the import/export industry for over 20 years as well as dealing with Ethiopian markets.
